Comments On The News

Each day local, national, or world news comes to our attention. What do we think about these events or announcements? How should the Christian respond to them? We hope to provide occasional commentary on some of this news—a commentary that is particularly Christian in orientation. Just what does the Bible have to say about these world events? What does God think about what happens in Washington, Atlanta, Los Angeles, or Dallas? How should we view events around the world? How should we understand the moral and spiritual implications of this world?

John the apostle writes, "We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one" (1 John 5:19). If the entire world, including its people and ways, is under the influence and domination of Satan, the evil one, how shall we view it from God’s perspective? The Lord has not been silent about this. The Scriptures testify to His principles of truth and righteousness that must guide our thinking of what happens around us.

We plan for this section on the news to be ongoing. The Lord willing, it will be a regular feature of this web site. Plan to visit from time to time!
