A Passion for Truth in 2010!
By God's
grace, we continue working on the True
Discipleship website. At
present, there are about 1,100 articles and
another 800 are in preparation for posting—when we
can find the time for this major task!
We
know that it is important for you—the reader—to find new,
fresh, relevant, and Scriptural teachings on a wide variety
of different subjects. This
is what I intend to make available.
There is
another plan in the works, but it may take some time (maybe
a year) to make it available. We are referring to an
entirely new website! This will take a
huge amount of work, some training, and
a lot of persistence. We'll
be letting you know of this plan as the months go by.
During
the past year, I have been diligently preparing articles
for use on the website, as well as choosing and collecting
some of the better articles to be found on other websites. I’ve
called these additional ones, “Guest Articles," since
they come from the pen of others. This
has been a difficult issue. We
would not agree with some of these writers in some of
their views, convictions, beliefs, and lifestyle. Is
it proper to include them on a site like this? At
present, we have chosen to include a number of these
articles since the articles themselves do present the
truth on various issues. We
do want you to be aware that we do not necessarily endorse
other items that they have written. (See Acts 17:28;
1 Corinthians 15:33; Titus 1:12).
I
am aware that a lot of work needs to be done to make
everything in True
Discipleship attractive and usable. I
would like to see the entire computer screen used, rather
than only the left portion, as is presently the
case. I know
very little about web design, and I know that the changes
would require a major investment of time.
It would be ideal to have a local brother in Christ who is zealous to share
the truth of God and who knows web design very well—who would be willing to
devote time to this project. Until
then, we’ll do what we can and seek to please God and make known His Word as
best we can!
We
hope that you will check out the various sections on
the website. You
might go to Comments
on the News and Biblical
Subjects sections. You
might also find something of value in the General
Topics portion. Test
your Biblical knowledge in the Bible
Quizzes section, and consult the Poems section
for an extensive list of poems. You
may want to check Letters
to the Editor and Mottoes.
You may even want to check the growing Spanish section.
We
live on earth only once. What
we do now has eternal implications! What we do will either bring eternal
reward or eternal ruin. We have
often quoted the short but profound verse:
Only one life,
It will soon be past;
Only what’s done
For Christ will last.
Let
all of us live life with a passion, with a constant awareness
that we are passing through this world only once. Now
we have the opportunity to repent, to change our ways,
to love and obey our Lord, to learn His Word, to find
spiritual fellowship, to bring people to the Savior,
and to serve the Lord Jesus who gave Himself for us.
Jesus
deserves our grateful labors, our implicit faith, our
joyful spirit, and our humble service. His
Word must be read, studied, believed, obeyed, and proclaimed. We
pray that the True
Discipleship website will help you on
your journey through life. Send
